FAQ Section
i. “Do I have to be a professional music producer or semi-pro producer to attend the Producer Sessions Live 2011 event?”
Producer Sessions Live is aimed at anyone with an active interest in hi-tech music making, not primarily for professionals/semi professionals. The weekend is a chance for you to learn from producers, industry professionals and check out the latest gear – whatever level you’re at.
ii. “Are the individual Producer Sessions hands-on, or will I just sit, observe and listen?”
The sessions themselves are not hands-on, more of a seminar for the producers to show the audience how they work.
iii. “Will there be a Question & Answer opportunity with the producers at the end of their 45-minute sessions?”
Yes, there will be an opportunity for audience questions.
iv. “Are places on the individual Producer sessions unlimited, or do they sell out?”
Places are limited and sell out quickly. We recommend advance purchase.
v. “Can I record the Producer sessions with a portable device for future reference?”
Recording devices are not permitted, but we will be professionally recording the Sessions for future use.
vi. “If I choose not to attend any of the Producer Sessions, will I still get to see and try plenty of gear?”
Yes, please see the website for a list of confirmed exhibitors. They will be in attendance at the event with their latest gear, which you’ll have the chance to try out.
vii. “Are there any scheduled equipment demos, or will the exhibitors be doing bespoke/ ad-hoc demos throughout the day?”
There will be a mixture of both scheduled and informal impromptu demos.
viii. “Can I just turn-up and buy tickets to the event on the door?”
Yes you can take the risk, but we recommend you buy in advance to ensure you get a place, as Sessions tend to sell out.
ix. “What time does the event finish each day?”
5pm
x. “Is there anywhere within the SAE building to buy cooked food?”
There is a café in the venue. However, it does get busy at peak times so you may want to bring your own food.
xi. “Do I need to bring anything specific?”
You don’t need to bring anything in particular, but you might want to bring a notepad and paper for notes during the Sessions.
xii. “Do I have to come to SAE when it opens, or can I come just for my Session?”
You can come as early as you like and stay all day, or you can walk in and out for your session. There will be someone on the door all day to take your ticket.
xiii. “Can I buy any equipment on the day?”
Absolute Music will be on site with a small store, but any larger items will have to be purchased after the event.
